Pathway to Success

Writing and reading skills are closely connected, however, writing is often overlooked as a tool to improve reading skills. Unfortunately, many students are lacking in the area of writing and reading skills. These two skills lead the pathway to student success in the classroom and beyond.

"In an age overwhelmed by information, the ability to read, comprehend, and write—in other words, to organize information into knowledge—must be viewed as tantamount to a survival skill." Vartan Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corporation of New York.

Students who are able to master writing and reading skills are on a clearer path to success. These two survival skills can be nurtured and developed. Participating in writing activities for children increases learning abilities. Consistency is key.
